Supers: Ex Heroes

Super powers. Super harem. Super awesome. Â

Contains adult content. Seriously.  Â

Who in his right mind tells both his lawyer and the judge presiding over his murder trial "F--k you!" while still in the courtroom? No one, right? Yeah, you'd be wrong about that. I did. Â

You'd say the same thing if you were just found guilty of a murder you didn't commit, though. Call me crazy for going off like that in court, but trust me, you don't know crazy until you see what happened next. Â

I never believed in superheroes. I certainly didn't believe I'd become one, or that strategically forming a harem of hot chicas and getting down with them to unlock my superpowers would be the key to my survival.  Â

Did I say my survival? I meant the universe's. No, really.... That's exactly what happened when I was taken to a galaxy of supers, thrown into a prison ship full of villains, and told it was up to me to stop them all. Read on, friend, because it gets a whole hell of a lot crazier from here.  Â

Warning: This audiobook contains gratuitous violence and sex, harems, a hot foxlike chick, breasts galore, heads exploding, and ample blood. You might cringe, you will laugh, and hell, you might even cry. Â

Soundbooth Theater presents: more super harem naughtiness! Jamie Hawke's steamy, action-packed adventure is now on audio with the full SBT cast treatment! Justin Thomas James leads yet another sexy bunch of superheroines voiced by the lovely Laurie Catherine Winkel and Annie Ellicott, while our vocal chameleon, Jeff Hays, plays the wise sage and the ultimate villain.Â

Adjust your pants for another titillating aural joyride, and keep an eye out for more audiobooks from Jamie Hawke and Soundbooth Theater!Â

This book does everything bad. And also, for someone who lived in Japan supposedly, this is a terrible example of the harem genre. The story is terrible, and the characters equally so. The only people who would enjoy this book are people who like adult films for the plot. And at least with those, it's cheesey/amusing because they know that no one is watching for the character or plot. Doesn't work in book form. This isn't even good for erotic literature, which relies on at least half-decent characters and mild suspension of disbelief (like mildly believable characters). The bar isn't high for erotic literature, and this doesn't even meet that.

This was a fun read! An unlikely new superhero...a nowhere-close-to-standard prison...and a cast of characters that are wildly varied enough to keep your imagination in overdrive. Toss in a hidden heritage, a twist on how the hero's superpowers are acquired and modified, a villain poised to take over the galaxy, and you've got an action-packed fun romp that'll keep you turning pages right up through the end.

Really enjoyed this first book from this author and am already looking forward to the next one. Great MC with an awesome harem of hot women. Hope he gets some new ones on his team.

I really liked this book can't wait to see where the next book takes the story I will definitely read the next book

This is the second book I try from this author and the second I don’t like, so probably the last one also.I don’t like the author’s writing nor his style. I find the book disjointed and hard to follow, not because of a complex plot -is rather simple and unoriginal-, but because the story is all over the place. The dialogues are very bad, and the interactions between characters are cringeworthy. The characters are stereotypical and one dimensional. The MC is so dull that is unlikable. Also, the author has this recurring theme of having his main characters piss themselves, is very off-putting. I’ll not read the rest of the series.A side note, all the books from this author are part of his own universe, so prepare yourself to a lot of references to his other books. It’s very annoying and instead of making me want to read his books, it ended up taking away the little desire I had to read anything more from him.

Premise was promising, took a leap and purchased. Am so far regretting that.. f-bombs everywhere like a 12 year old who just learned the word, and a puzzling reference to the protag's "oddly hard cock" in the first couple of pages.. just makes for a really mixed, amateur-ish bag. I'll keep reading because I spent money on it, and will adjust the review if it improves, but so far.. um.. meh.Update: okay, I pushed through to the end, and I'll say on balance, it was entertaining enough that I bumped the score from one to three stars (though 2.5 might be more accurate). Some formatting errors throughout, especially with missing quotation marks. Character and environment descriptions are severely lacking in most instances, so the narrative flow is weak overall. It does deliver on the bare bones promise of the genre, however, so there is that. On the fence as to whether or not I will purchase the next book. I'm curious to see how (or if) the author improves, along with where the story is headed, but...

It was a good story. Had pretty much what you're looking for in the genre. Sex, violence, action and humor. What more can you ask for? Looking forward to the next book.

The header sounds a bit harsh, but I want to be honest. Amazon kept popping these ads for GameLit and Harem novels into my Facebook feed. I kept ignoring them until two weeks ago. I decided I wanted to try something different in my reading (Primarily an Urban Fantasy reader). I like the premise of the story overall, what with the galaxy of super powered beings and a regular guy being trapped on a prison ship with a bunch of crazy super villains. Wasn't sure about the Harem/Gamelit part of it but the whole thing played in well with the overall theme. The story was well written and kept me engaged from start to finish.
